Fuel Injector Cleaner
A chemical fuel additive designed to dissolve deposits from fuel injector nozzles, restoring proper spray patterns.
Fuel injector cleaner is a chemical additive poured directly into the fuel tank. It is formulated with solvents (such as Polyetheramine or PEA) that survive the combustion process and dissolve carbon deposits, varnish, and gum that build up on the delicate fuel injector nozzle tips over time.
Fuel injectors feature tiny holes that spray fuel as a fine mist to promote rapid evaporation and clean combustion. Even microscopic deposits can restrict fuel flow and distort the spray pattern, leading to poor fuel atomization, rough idling, engine misfires, and decreased fuel economy.
Using a high-quality injector cleaner periodically helps maintain clean injectors and optimal engine performance. However, for severely clogged or varnished injectors, fuel additives may not be enough. In these cases, mechanics use professional bench-cleaning machines that pulse the injectors while flushing them with pressurized cleaning solvents.
