Camber Kit
Suspension components (like adjustable control arms or eccentric bolts) that allow adjustment of a wheel's camber angle.
A camber kit is an aftermarket suspension package containing adjustable components—such as eccentric crash bolts, adjustable control arms, or sliding strut mounts—designed to allow correction of a vehicle's wheel camber angle. Camber is the inward or outward tilt of the wheels when viewed from the front, and is critical for maintaining even tire contact with the road.
Many modern vehicles do not have factory adjustments for camber. If a vehicle's ride height is altered (such as lowering a car or lifting a truck), or if suspension parts become slightly bent due to pothole impacts, the camber angle will drift out of specification. This leads to rapid, uneven tire wear (camber wear) and pull steering. A camber kit replaces factory fixed components with adjustable versions to restore alignment.
Installing a camber kit allows alignment technicians to adjust camber back to factory specifications, ensuring even tire tread wear and optimal handling. After installing a camber kit, the vehicle must undergo a professional four-wheel alignment to set all angles (camber, caster, toe) accurately.
