Brake Caliper Brush

A narrow, stiff wire brush designed to clean brake dust, rust, and road debris from brake caliper brackets.

Brake pads must slide smoothly within the caliper bracket to function properly. A buildup of rust and brake dust under the stainless steel guide clips will bind the pads, causing uneven wear or squealing. A brake caliper brush is a specialized wire brush with a narrow profile and stiff steel or brass bristles. It is designed to slide into the slide channels of the bracket, allowing you to scrub away stubborn carbon deposits without damaging nearby rubber boots or slide pins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard wire brushes are too wide and can easily puncture the delicate rubber dust boot on the caliper piston or slide pins, leading to caliper seizure.
Yes. Spray the bracket with brake cleaner to wet the dust, then scrub. This prevents you from breathing in toxic brake dust particles.
Clean the holes where the slide pins insert. Ensure there is no old, dried grease or dirt inside that would prevent the pins from moving freely.
