Blower Motor
An electric fan assembly that pushes conditioned air through the vehicle's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) vents into the cabin.
The blower motor is the fan that drives air through the cabin HVAC system. Located behind the dashboard (typically near the glove box), it pulls air through the cabin air filter, pushes it across either the heater core (for warm air) or the A/C evaporator core (for cold air), and routes it through the dashboard vents.
It is controlled by the HVAC dashboard knobs via a series of electrical resistors. Over time, blower motors can fail due to worn internal motor brushes, bearing wear (causing squeaking or clicking noises), or electrical overload.
A failed blower motor will result in no air blowing from the vents, even if the A/C compressor and heater are functioning perfectly. Replacing the motor restores full HVAC capability.
