The A/C condenser core is the radiator-like component located at the front of the vehicle. It receives hot, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant from the compressor. As air flows through the condenser fins, it cools the gas, transforming it back into a high-pressure liquid. This liquid then flows to the expansion valve and evaporator core inside the cabin.
Because it is located behind the front grille, the condenser core is highly vulnerable to damage from road debris and rocks. A small stone can easily puncture the thin aluminum tubes, causing a refrigerant leak that will disable the entire A/C system.
