Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) Battery

A premium lead-acid battery design using fiberglass mats saturated with electrolyte, offering high vibration resistance and longevity.

An Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery is an advanced type of sealed lead-acid battery that uses thin fiberglass mats sandwiched between the lead plates. The electrolyte fluid is completely absorbed into these glass mats rather than flooding the case. AGM batteries are valve-regulated, maintenance-free, and spill-proof, allowing them to be mounted in any orientation.

AGM batteries offer several performance advantages over traditional flooded batteries: they have a lower internal resistance, allowing them to deliver higher cranking currents and charge up to five times faster. They also tolerate deep discharging much better and have exceptional resistance to vibration, which is a leading cause of battery plate damage.

Many modern vehicles with start-stop technology, electronic power steering, and complex electrical systems require AGM batteries. Because they charge differently, an AGM battery must be registered to the vehicle's computer system during replacement, and charging them requires a smart battery charger with an AGM-specific charging profile to prevent damage from overheating.
