6 Above Knock Threshold

A fault indicating that combustion vibrations in cylinder 6 exceed safe limits.

Cylinder 6 is located near the middle or rear of the engine block. The knock sensor monitors cylinder 6 during its power stroke. If it detects knocking, it delays ignition timing to protect the engine. If the knock continues, it sets this code. Bad fuel injectors, worn spark plugs, or vacuum leaks on the cylinder 6 intake runner are common causes.
